  • Main text is used from the Qur'an
  • Grammatical Arabic
Class Sessions:
There are 64 sessions and students need to complement each session with one hour of home study.
Eligibility:
  • Commitment from the Students to finish this course and try sincerely to study the class material in their spare time.
  • Ability to read and write Arabic. Writing skill may be fair. Students have to take notes from the board so the ability to write would be very helpful.
Class Materials :
  • Dr. Kavakci has provided the class material and they are on this web page under the class notes as "Handout". All the class notes are published on this web page as well.
  • Students need to buy an Arabic to English Dictionary. A recommended dictionary is the, "A dictionary for Modern Written Arabic" by Hans Wehr. It is highly recommended to read through the introduction to Hans Wehr (the dictionary) at the first opportunity. It has some important details.
  • Dr. Kavakci has also recommended "A Grammar of the Arabic Language" by W. Wright as a reference book.
  • You can purchase a copy of the Class Video Cassette for $10.00+Shipping or the whole set of the Learn Qur’anic Arabic-Basic class for $70.00+Shipping. Each cassette contains about six(6) class sessions and the whole set contains 11 VHS video cassettes.
